Anti-Flamme Herbal
Relief Creme
Indications: Anti-Flamme is a clean to use creme that should be the
first choice for strained muscles, joint pain, bumps, bruises, and common
sports injuries. Suitable for use before and after spinal manipulation
to ease the discomfort, and for overuse syndromes.
Ingredients
Extracts of Arnica Montana, Hypericum Perforatum [St Johns
Wort], Calendula Officinalis and the essential oil of Peppermint.
Arnica Montana - A herb, commonly just called Arnica, that has been
used for centuries by herbalists and medicine folk for it's beneficial
effects in reducing pain and bruising associated with common injuries.
Arnica is probably one of the most widely known and prescribed herbs,
particularly in places like Germany where over 100 drug products are
available with Arnica in the formulation. It was not long ago that many
pharmacies in NZ still dispensed Arnica based cremes for such complaints
but this lost popularity with the availability of easily prepared and
cheaper synthetic anti-inflammatory. Arnica has gained much popularity
in homeopathic circles for its use as the first remedy for any trauma.
(In Anti-Flamme we use the pure herb extract and it is not subject to
the homeopathic principles of destruction by strong aromatic substances
such as peppermint.)
Hypericum Perforatum - This herb is commonly known as St. Johns Wort.
It's historical use has been for the relief of pain associated with
local nerve damage such as might be found in sporting type injuries
or common back complaints. Again we use a pure herb extract in our preparation.
Calendula Officinalis - Calendula is known for its soothing action on
irritated tissue. It is often found in cosmetics, in wound salves, and
even eyewashes. It was a favourite herb of the Arabian horsemen, who
fed it to their steeds for its beneficial effects on the circulatory
system.
Peppermint - The essential oil of Peppermint is commonly used for it's
cooling sensation along with the feeling of deeper penetration. It also
encourages an increased blood flow to the local area.
Characteristics
Anti-Flamme is the ideal choice for all acute injuries
where the skin is not broken and can also be applied before or after
ice treatment. It rapidly soothes pain and inflamed tissue, making it
an excellent massage medium before or after spinal manipulation, and
during joint articulation in rehabilitation therapy. For patient home
use it can be applied as often as required - usually 3-4 times per day.
With excessive use a localised skin irritation may arise but quickly
disappears once application is reduced.
